Todoruk Designs is excited to assist with the Sakihta Kikinaw initiative at Stovel Block (stovelblock.com). An historical site in the heart of Edmonton, Stovel Block has been transformed into a transitional home for women experiencing homelessness in our city.
Sakihta Kikinaw (Cree for “house of love”) offers 30 housing units and essential amenities for female-identifying people within Edmonton who need safe, low-income housing before transitioning into long-term housing.
Our passion to support our community along with our mission to provide professional and accessible clothing design has inspired us to partner with The Gather Co. and Boyle Street Community Services.
At Todoruk Designs, we believe that clothing is a powerful tool to inspire strength in mind and physicality.
As such, our initiative is to build an ever-growing clothing collection in Sakihta Kikinaw for new residents. The goal is to help women in need feel welcome by offering them a capsule wardrobe of their own to inspire them to look and feel their best during a difficult life transition.
We are asking you to dig into your closets and donate your new or gently used clothes to our wardrobe initiative at Sakihta Kikinaw. Through your contribution, we can help women in our community feel confident and strong enough to have a fresh start.
Watch it come alive!
